Guys,

Just about to agree my new Tuscan 'S' spec with Castle TVR in Essex this Saturday (March delivery), am trading in my lovely pearl yellow Chimaera 4.5. Basically looking for some advice on the colour I choose, what with thousands of colours to go for..clearly this is a big decision!

Do I go for a dark 'mean' colour e.g. all black inside & out or for a Cascade/Chameleon colour...clearly the car will get a lot of attention but I am worried about how much attention from the little 'br*t' who decides that a key down the side will make my day...

Also the guys at castle said that if I wish to make the car unique then they will obtain samples of new colours that the guy at TVR is working on...the point with this is that it will be much cheaper as it will be a 'test' colour. This would only be a colour which they agree will work and will sell in future but I would only see a small test sample of it (so a risk).

What you guys reckon??

I think the Tuscan is one of the few cars ever that works in almost any colour. Some of my favourites are black, crystal topaz, GTS blue, chameleon blue though I do think the ones that change between 5 colours (cascade) are a bit over the top.

Don't worry about the keying thing...most people are so amazed by the car and the colour, they just gawp and wouldn't dream of damaging.

Good Luck with your choice....tough one....agree that the cascade colours are OTT, but love my Reflex colour.

My opinion? Definitely go for the reflex colors. Lots of choice and if you ever want to sell the car, it seems that reflex painted cars are less common and sell more quickly.

The only thing is that some people go for the color-coded interior to match the paint. I believe this misses the point and may also contribute to the feelings of OTT that some people associate with the reflex.

You may find that an eye-catching reflex paint job looks even better with a sedate interior scheme like grey or light beige.

I wouldn't worry about the "envy factor". From what I've seen, that seems to be more associated with German and Italian supercars.

I particularly like the Tuscan plate that effectively says 'You're too slow!'

yes I agree, the pics are excellent. Mine is Cascade Purple (the same colour as the pics flanking the TVR logo on the first link) and I love it!!!I bumped into a guy at the weekend who used to work for Heritage in the bodyshop and he actually loved this colour so much that he painted his phone in it!

He reckoned that it cost nearly £500/litre. I know from the invoice for my car that it was a £3525 option!!!

yes.. i know this story, i looked at colours until they were keeping me awake at night - it becomes like an alcohol dependancy after a couple of weeks, different screen savers and jpeg's blue-tacked to the wall

you should just consider how the car will mark (repainting stone chips, light scratches etc) and how quickly road dirt will make it look pants. As we know the roads at the moment leave that black film over the car that on dark (black, dark blue) colours looks bad

yes I know you will be washing and polishing it every five minutes but I know from my dark blue (Antrim Blue) Chim that it gets dirty much quicker than my GTS Blue Tuscan

..but having said all of that, the oil slick colours are pretty cool!

Dark blues,blacks and silvers are the safest bets on re sale value, as for flips and chameleon they were ok last year but in 12 months time they will be as desirable as white plus micras are painted in the same colour.eeeek

Its slighty different paint to that employed by Nissan, to the tune of about £250 a litre...

Keep meaning to! I have to nick the digital camera from my Dad and pray for good weather!

It goes to Mole Valley for it's 1000 mile service next Wednesday so I'll take some pics when I collect it because it will be clean then!

Well all done now. Agreed the spec today with Ian at Castle TVR in Essex, took 2 hours just to agree on the colour....but in the end 'Cascade Copper' won the day!

The interior will be all black leather with 'Burnt Orange' stitching throughout (including on the steering wheel), complemented with 'Burnt Orange' carpet piping around the black carpet.

The factory will do all alloy switch gear, ie I won't have the copper knobs and instrumentation which all Tuscans come with as standard. So this should look quite cool against a black interior.

To complement the black interior I am having the anthracite 18' alloys rather than silver + the front diffuser will be colour coded as body.

The rear exhausts will be upgraded to the new Titanium sports exhaust now available to Tuscans...sounds great!

Thats it! Hopefully just have to wait 6 weeks for delivery!

I will post pic's on here once I get to the factory or when delivered.........can't wait!!!!!!!

B*stards!!! Unbersoddinglievable! I remember when the Tuscan first came out (I was having 'issues' with a Cerb at the time which needed to be fired off), I came SO close to ordering a Tuscan but you know what stopped me - seriously?

The bloody brass fittings! Couldn't stand 'em. I even knew a guy at the factory who asked on my behalf but the answer was a polite but firm, 'no.' End of story!

I reckon it'll look INCREDIBLE all silvered up - oh God, this is seriously distressing...

Is that from TVR, Castle or one of the other 3rd party systems ? Just wondered if TVR had an official system now, or if it's from Castle which one are they selling ?

They have the exhausts on the Tuscan 'S' black demo...so get them to fire them up and get ready for a blast :-)
