i was in the same boat as you at one stage as i am sure most tvr owners were as well. my personal view is that tvr cars are elite within the industry there is no car (used to be a porsche/bmw owner) that can offer this much bang for the buck. ultra cool and ultra ultra fast, depending on your budget go for the most recent one you can because of the relative newness of the car there Was issues that existed at the start but once recognised they were resolved(mostly) i bought a 01/51 tuscan with the full red rose upgrade in purple illusion. The only complaint i have is it draws way to much attention and is a bit too fast for my liking, no seriously i find the car a bit intimidating with regards its power. It is terrifying when you put the foot down. If you havent driven one then you owe it to yourself STRAP IN, HOLD ON, AND ENJOY THE RIDE.

you need to get yourself a December issue of EVO magazine as it has a complete write up on what to look out for, and trawl through the postings on this site -search the database
Do all your homework and make up your mind what year you want to aim for - there are plenty in the classifieds section!
Then stick your head between your legs and....push your right foot down on the pedal..oh! look up now 'cos your doing 80!

Yes, not the cheapest thing in the world to run but you could always buy a porsche! but then you'd only being doing 80 bye the time you got to the bottom of this paragraph - am i asking for trouble!

good luck and keep us posted

How do I go about getting a back issue of EVO for the December copy? on the web site? What issue number was the December issue?

Evo is at www.evo.co.uk/

Also try the Yahoo Tuscan owners there is a whole load of information there including a buyers guide in the files section.

I've seen Andy's car, and he's gone to the trouble of having some of the lastest components fitted (throttle pots, clutch bits etc) before he put it on the market (I must admit I wouldn't have bothered) so it's probably one of the better ones out there.

Ajvmoore, off chance I know but do you live in/around Bramley (notice your region is Hants/Berks)? I have seen a gorgeous Tuscan in the area, don't see that many so just a thought...

Griff 500, think I passed you as I was going out of Bramley on Sunday (you were coming in). If it was you your car sounded lovely. Standard exhaust?

That would have been me - was letting my brother in law have a drive - he is a copper, and just been doing a whole load of high speed driving courses, so I thought it was safe. The exhaust is not standard, it is one of the Carbon Can Co's fine products. Spot you soon!
