The side bolster on the drivers seat is going to be repaired by “Re-painting” the leather apparently will be as good as new. Would agree on the leather quality, it really is not very robust, the only real fix is to have the car re-trimmed with better quality leather or if you are having a new car built supply your own leather I know of one person who has done this recently.

I am quiet sure it will & even if I have it re-covered at the factory probly will only last another two years. At least it will buy me a bit of time while I can find somewhere to have both the seats re-trimmed with real (quality) leather.

Had my leather sofa redone and it been fine for wear. Only problem is out little moggy and her sharp claws!
I believe the leather is treated like this when it is new anyway. My seats in a Chimaera got worn on the edge through getting in and out.
I can recommend www.leathercare-renovations.co.uk if you want to check them out. They are excellent and reconnolise loads of Ferraris.

Nick,
I supplied the leather for my Tuscan by myself(which is in build at the moment), for the reason that the leather used by TVR is wearing quite quickly. I believe it is made by Andrew Muirhead.
The leather used in my car is BMW Walk Nappa, which is very soft and good quality. I have also used it in my actual car, and after 130000 km, there are still no white marks or cracks in the leather.
Repainting the leather, as MB. said, is not the best solution, because you remove the protecting top finish of the leather. This means it will wear much faster after the repaint job.
We supply trim shops in Europe and U.K. If you need an
address of a good coachtrimmer to retrim your seats with high quality leather, let me know.
Cheers,
Koen.

I noticed quiet a wear mark on the drivers side seat side bolster yesterday caused by getting in & out of the car.Has anyone else had this problem and if so how was it rectified?
Nick
Did notice this happening on mine when I had it.Also had to send the drivers seat from a cerbera back to the factory with the same problem. However I don't think it is problem unique to TVR. Many years ago I had a seat bolster worn down to the foam in a Mercedes ( repaired under warranty), a vehicle associated with exempliary build quality.I think its all down to the postion of the seat and in all cars a compromise has to be reached so that the seat is in a comfortable position and in a position where you don't rub against it getting in and out.
