Out in the Tuscan this morning when the car kindly lets me know that the outside air temp is 2C. Great, good idea, however it then continued to alarm about every 2 minutes which became a pain! Does anyone know of a way to set this so that it only does it once, rather than until the outside air temp gets above 2C? Or is this a feature of my car?

Must be a feature of your car, only the oil temperature gives a continous alarm on mine when at 0 Deg.C.or below and then clears above this level.

Agreed Blooody annoying... I get it too except every few seconds.....! When temp is below 2 or above 3 all is ok (1 warning which you can cancel). I purchased my car 1 month ago from Fernhurst (18 mths old) who said that there was nothing they could do and that it would have to go back to Blackpool. (However it has had the recommended instrumentation software upgrade about 12 months ago, so I do not know??)

I get the warning when the temp. goes below 3. One press cancels the warning. However, if the temp. is in the grey area between 2 and 3 it will keep beeping when 2 flashes up. Not much one can do about mother nature...

Mine does the same...it is a frost alert so nothing to do with the water temp or oil temp, just warning you that there is the potential of frost outside.

Agree it is annoying when the temp is close to 2 degrees but don't think there is anything to do to rectify it. This is just the way TVR have decided to put the warning out - for example my other car gives an "Ice Alert" when starting up but the digital temp guage just flashes when between 3C and 3C, which is far less obtrusive...

The temp yesterday did seem to be between 2C and 3C which might explain why it kept going off. Day car just displays a frost warning similar to the Chim and doesn't make a noise!

Thanks for everyones input.

I got the frost warning every few seconds on my way in to work this morning as well - kind of redundant when there's an inch of snow and you're already driving along at 2 mph !

I don't get an outside temperature warning however I get an oil temperature warning if lower than 0 degC or a water temperture warning also if lower than 0 degC. The water one seems to take priority.

Why is there a warning ? Is it not safe to run the engine with fluid temperatures that low ?
