Happy New Year everyone! - here we go -
I'm that close to buying a Tuscan - I think i'm going for the S, it might be new it be used, ho hum!
It comes down to this bloody colour question again and again...I've searched thru the posts and it's still difficult to settle on a really cool colour (i'm sounding like my misses now buying a blouse!)
I saw a Tuscan yesterday that was a chameleon Pink(and blue) it looked like an oil slick - it was just awesome as the yanks say. But I can't really see myself driving round in that unless i was pedalling women or drugs! I like the S in black but i think Tuscans maybe look better in lighter colours - OH GOD!(you plonka just settle for anyone of them)
Can anybody with a black one (eh up) tell me if they struggle with scratches and wash marks ? Do they look s****y really quick because of the dark colour ?
This then decides wether I save a shed load of money and go with a used one (i hear the rattle of all those of you with your cars for sale!!), or pick THE VERY colour and buy new (ok with a wait!)
Mr Sixspeed wots the colour of your motor by the way ?
any suggestions would be great (even 'please...get of the forum for god's sake' will be fine)

They look really mean in black, but as with all TVRs, the nose will stonechip, and black will show this up a lot worse than a light silvery colour.
On the other hand, black is a lot easier to touch up than reflex or other bright metallic paints.
You'll save a packet buying second-hand, & it will also probably have most of the niggles sorted out (trim etc) & you won't have to run it in.
Conversely you can't beat the feeling of getting a new car that is exactly the spec you want, knowing that you are the first person to drive & own it

I'm a regular drooler over Tuscans (2003 might be the year ) but I've already made up my mind which colour. Unfortunately I don't know what the colour is called but I've seen it on the Tuscan S that's hung with the P55YCO plates. I'm sure someone will tell me. It is brilliant in whatever light and I think really accentuates the design flow of the car.

I agree with CraigAlsop about the new feeling (but then that wears off after a couple of weeks anyway and the car becomes yours, even with the previous owners dog sick in the footwell!) but i'm sure your right about the re-painting of the more complicated colours, my worry still includes the difficulties of keeping deep/dark colours looking good with road dirt, and scratches you end up with from car washing; however careful you are about your sponge!
TVRlover can you spray armourfend as a retro-fit ?

Don,t worry to much about the colour as they look spot on in almost any exterior/interior combination, I should know I just about concidered every choice known to man kind when ordering mine. I ordered mine in rosso pearl& magnolia/red interior,Very different to any colour car I,ve ever had before.When I was down at Henley ordering it their was a black S in for service,all black,,wheels,interior,the whole works,it looked awwwsome.Just buy one. good luck & keep us posted.
You will probably end up polishing it quite a lot anyway, so don't worry about it...

Armourfend is a transparent film, that is cut & affixed to the car - it can be put on any car, but if there are already scratches, they can look unsightly under it.

Also, you can see the edges of it - personally I considered it on my Chimaera, but decided against it, as it costs almost as much as a minor front end respray (around £300 IIRC).
When the front gets chipped enough, I shall just get the front end resprayed - there are places that will put an elastiser in the paint, so that it is far less prone to chipping. (Harder to paint though apparently, so the body-shop needs to know what they are doing)
carbon black looks good, thank you Craig for the armourfend advice - yeah that's the last thing i want, and i guess if it's painted in a flat colour you just get it resprayed like i do with my Chim

P55YCO that,s Chris car, was at my pub on 8th Dec, can,t remember the colour name, but looks great!!, exhaust is evil. IMHO colour don,t matter, the car is awesome. Mine is Paris Blue.
Mmmmm same dilemma for me! About to order a new Tuscan S but what colour???? Do I go BRIGHT and BOLD or do I go BLACK and MEAN?
After weeks of thinking and playing with Adobe Photo Shop the choice is between 2:
Halcyon Midas - not seen a Tuscan (Tamoras' - yes) in this colour (Does anyone have a picture of one?) or
Black - and which black? It's got to be pearl - any suggestions?
My current Tuscan is Saffron Pearl and my last Griff was Purple Paradise so I do like BRIGHT!!! But the TVR Tuscan S publicity pictures look sooooo cool in Black!

Chris' car is that Merc S class very light silver blue colour - a great colour which I pursued Chris to spec, he originally wanted that new Honda Jizz pink colour

Rosso Pearlescent!
Best colour going IMO. Looks fantastic in this colour.
Also, got the front grill sprayed in a darker metallic red colour, and very pleased with that.
Would put pictures up of mine, but my computer is broken, and my scanner! Wish they were as reliable as the car!
But then again there are lots of fantastic colurs.
In fact it looks good in everything I've seen except Barbie pink.
