Speedo Speed Less

I have a June 2001 Tuscan, and since I bought it in September this year the Speedo has been playing up -recording higher readings on the needle, than on digital display, and reading zero for a lot of the time. I think that means I can ping open the doors whilst in motion... The dealer has replaced the sensor with the new revised model, but after 50 miles that is now caput. Has anyone else had these problems, and had them fixed for good?

My speedo was behaving similarly. At my 12 month service the pod was replaced and it's been working ever since.
