I was happily driving along on Friday when the radio cut out. Ahh I thought probably just a fuse... Unfortunately when I stopped for petrol (about 200 miles) from home I discovered that radio and boot release are on the same fuse. Of course I always carry spare fuses ... but in the boot. So Catch 22 ... need a fuse to open the boot ... but can't open the boot to get the fuse.
No option but to call RAC who arrive reasonably quickly, replace fuse #11 (its in the driver's footwell), boot release and radio now working.
Morale of the story, carry a fuse inside the car...

I shortened the story slightly...
Yes I did try swapping fuses, but logically I swapped 15 amp fuses and it didn't work so I assumed the problem was not the fuses... When the RAC chap turned up he tried a 15 amp fuse which the car promptly blew...he then tried a 20 amp which worked and no problems since.
Car is due a service next month so I'll get them to check it out. Meanwhile I have a good supply of fuses!
