trying to gauge sales for tuscan decat pipes .. I can get a batch of these made if there's enough interest .. any takers? .. price depends on numbers made but reckon on up to 200 pounds a pair for limited run, less if there's significant interest. Price is higher than the cerbera pipes cos the tuscan has a bl**dy big flange (!) which has to be cnc machined from a solid bit on a small run like this.

Apart from sounding better would there be any gain in power ? Would you have to change ecu/fueling settings ?

Cheers

Peninsula de-catted mine the other month & it is running rich...

The tune changes quite a bit, a lot louder with a slight change in pitch to a higher note. Pops like a goodun though!

I've had my exhausts sleeved too, and hearing it again in the weekend, it sound a little too raspy. Going to take the sleeves out to increase the bassy note more.

Apparently, the cat's are high flow units so no power gains so i was told. (from a fellow PHer, so cannot confirn validity)

if the tuscan is anything like the cerbera then tvr run it waaay retarded to make decent power. I'm sure a dedicated remap would help there. The tuscan cats are very high flow, but the main sales point is to keep yuor cats in tip top condition - the tuscan does have it's share of engine running problems which quickly destroy the cats, by replacing them you can keep them safe for MOT time. plus the sound is great too Just so Ted doesn't get angry I'm sure you'll get similar items from other specialists too ..

I've never been too sure about a few things when doing something like that, ie...

Would it damage reliability at all?
Would it invalidate the warranty?
...and...
Would it invalidate the insurance?

Reliability: not that i;m aware of... it just burns the Optimax a little faster until i get the fueling remapped. (You;d also like to think that the "pros" would tell you, cos i actually haven't a clue!)

Warranty: not got it anyway...

Insurance: i've a blanket traders policy that covers mods bar cracking open the engine.
