Oil Pressure - what's normal ?
Has anyone experienced this -
One day experimenting with 6500+rpm - suddenly red light and 0 psi for oil pressure !! Engine off coast to a halt and AA recovery to dealer just in case. Dealer diagnose''s gasket material blocking various pipes - good job you stopped sir ! Easliy fixed but prior to this (hot)oil pressure was 8-9psi at idle 48psi at 3000. Now its 18psi idle, but only 28psi at 3000. What is normal -28psi feels a bit low ?
I know this was a while ago but has anybody got any figures on this - no mention in manual - ie. what is normal oil pressure - or do you just simply wait for the warning to appear?!
With my standard 4 Litre Tuscan I get 60 Psi cold , when the oil is hot it is 50 psi > 2500 RPM and 12 psi at idle.
The manual does mention > 30psi at 2500 RPM.

When hot my idle is 18-20psi which is normal on Mobil 1 Upto 45-55 at revs. If your oil gets very hot this can drop lower handbook states low limits for hot oil on trackdays. (haven't read it recently but think its the same figere as above ie 30 at 2500)
The pressure at idle speed also depend if the idle speed is set to 700 or 900 rpm mine is at 700, at 900 the oil pressure increases to 20psi
