Has anyone ever managed to get through to

Nope!.. However TVR are offering the enhanced CR box for all those customers who are patiently waiting when it is ready or a money refund through your dealer for the standard CR box.
Ie. If you can do 60mph in 1st and 96mph in 2nd then you have the enhanced CR box. 50mph in 1st and 76mph in 2nd means that you have the standard CR Tuscan box which to be honest is still fantastic.

Got my new Tuscan S exactly 1 month ago. I assume it has a CR box in it. Haven't been told otherwise....
How long is the warranty on the engine valid for? I could check in the hand book, but that's in the boot of the car and I'm in bed.
But I'm sure when I read it, it said just 1 year? Thought it was meant to be 2 years on the engine, 1 year on all else?

Because its easy for them to fit a standard 'box and give the owner a slip of paper entitling them to the upgrade?
plotloss said: So if they have none of these boxes available, how come they are still offering a CR box as an option on the Tamora and the T350C?
I suspect there are an awful lot of Tuscan owners out there waiting for their new CR gearbox, and probably a fair few (especially those who bought 2nd hand) who don't even know whether they've got one or not.

As far as I know, no Tuscans have been delivered with close ratio boxes yet.
But TVR have a wad of everyone's cash now to develop it!!

What is the difference between the 'standard' CR Tuscan box and the 'enhanced' CR box? My dealer (Logik) reckon that my Tuscan S which was delivered to me new in March has the CR box and that some S's have gone out with the standard non CR box since then as and when the factory have been in short supply. Does anyone have the definitive answer?
I think 55 in 1st would be bouncing off
the limiter with the standard box, if it
goes that far.
My understanding is that 1st goes to nearly 60
and 2nd to about 100 with the CR box which makes
the gears more flexible. Not really a CR box just
better chosen ratios. Although it might make v. slow
traffic quite difficult as I struggle to go go as
slow as regular cars at tick over in 1st already.
Still no reply from Mr. Oxley, what a fine
customer service department.

Use this to determine if your S has the CR box (only the first 3 gears are different):
Standard
3000rpm 1st 22 mph
3000rpm 2nd 33 mph
3000rpm 3rd 48 mph
Close Ratio
3000rpm 1st 26 mph
3000rpm 2nd 41 mph
3000rpm 3rd 52 mph
Max speed (7000rpm) in 1st gear with the CR box is 62mph, 2nd gear is 96mph and 3rd is 121mph compared to 51, 77 and 113 with the standard box. Having talked to someone who had one of the CR boxes (before it broke) they did say it made a considerable difference to the way the Tuscan/Cerb drives.
I'm aware of 3 customers at Hawthorns waiting for the CR box. Having spoken to Jason Oxley on several occasions and seen nothing I gave up and am leaving it to the dealer to sort. It has been too long a wait though.
I wonder if the factory would consider upselling us the six speed sequential gearbox that is planned for the T440R? I wouldn't mind being a beta tester ;-)

My dealer (Logik) has contacted the factory and it seems that I do not have the CR box, nor do I have a piece of paper to tell me. Nice of the factory to keep their customers informed. If I order and pay for a CR box then that is what I expect to get. It's a bit much that they do not even bother to tell me that they cannot supply what I ordered; or do they think we will not notice and just be carried away the already awesome performance? 60 in first is what a real supercar should achieve. Anyone out there with an update from Blackpool on this?
