I’ve just bought a Ctek MXS 5.0 charger, I’ve also purchased the cigarette lighter adapter, the lighter is not permanently fed, is there an easy way to rectify and use the cigarette lighter to charge the battery

Have you checked it’s not permanently live with a multimeter? I charged all three of my tuscan via the cigarette lighter. My experience and understanding is they are all permanently live on Tuscans ?

Yes, agree perm live. I know as despite a tedious fuse box strip down and rebuild with all contacts cleaned (on PH with pics) to sort an issue, my brake lights lost their feed again, impeccably timed on the return from LeMans, so road side I rigged up a feed from the fag lighter to the pedal switch and made it home with brake lights... worked with key out.

The CTEK MXS 5.0 checks whether there is a connection to the battery and displays an error if this is not the case. A red warning light then lights up.

You would therefore notice if the connection via the cigarette lighter does not work.

Thanks for all your replies, I’ll check later to see if the cigarette lighter is permanently fed. I did plug in an old 12v car polisher but this may be faulty.
