Hi, first post on PistonHeads in a long time. I’m potentially interested in a TVR Tuscan for sale local to me and wondered if it was / is a members car or if anyone knows any information or history on the car. Have tied the dealer but i think they are finished for Christmas as it rings out

Hasn't this been for sale for a while? I contributed to a thread back in October when someone was wondering how much their Tuscan was worth and what to do with it. I looked at Tuscans for sale then, and I seem to remember this one being for sale then.
I said at the time that it was being sold on behalf of the owner, not as a dealer's own stock, so you will likely get no warranty. If the chassis is made of rust, or the engine goes bang 2 miles down the road after buying it, you are on your own.
The colour is going to put most people off. Maybe it's the lighting in the pics, or my screen, or my eyesight, but it looks much closer to Barbie pink than purple. It's not a colour many people would choose, unless they are 5 years old and a girl! The interior colour looks like something that Toyota would have fitted to a 90s Camry and claimed it was leather, even though it looked like vinyl.
And what is the ugly big black rubbery looking thing to the right of the instruments?
I'd be worried about how well it has been maintained. Have a look at the MOT history. Almost every year, bald tyres or nearly bald tyres have come up. It failed the last MOT and a "light misting of oil" was noted on the shock absorbers. When it then passed, that advisory was still there. So you have failing, leaking shock absorbers on a TVR Tuscan, that were not fixed. That doesn't shout well maintained to me. That's what you do when you are short of money and/or you drive a banger. You only fix what is necessary to get a pass, and you wait until the advisories become a failure before you fix them.
And look at the mileage. It did less than 250 miles between the November 2020 MOT and the May 2022 one. I know there was Covid for some of that period, but even so. It did less than 150 between November 2019 and 2020; and less than 100 between August 2018 and November 2019. It wasn't MOT'd at all in 2017, and the mileage in both 2015 and 2016 was shown as "unknown".
If you can believe the current mileage, then it has only done 1000 miles in the last 10 years! It's done 1 mile since May of this year.

I don't know the car personally, but the fact it's been untaxed (not SORN) since February suggests it's 'in the trade' so is perhaps NOT being sold on behalf of a private seller.
However, on the plus side the last V5c for the car was issued back in October 2012, so it has been in the hands of the same registered keeper for 10 years. And worn that reg. plate for at least the same amount of time

Apart from that being completely wrong and irrelevant, all cars require road tax or SORN in private hands, automatic fine, no need to be 'caught.'
In any case this is a bump: The car is now up for auction on 17th Feb at Manor Park in Runcorn, guide price £19k - £21k. MoT until Nov 2024 and taxed so a private sale most likely.

ETA: Unsure how this race proved pre-oiler system functions or is initiated?
