Hello People

Theres a Tuscan S in the adds at 32.5k is it a S or a normal Tuscan ?

Did the guys in Blackpool put down on the V5 if a Tuscan was an S? Only asking

As far as I can tell, it's not black : it's dark purple, stated to be pearl in the advert. But there are a couple of odd things here -

1. The GOV.UK car tax checker page says it is registered as red.

2. The GOV.UK MoT checker site does not recognise the registration number, even though the tax checker site does, and shows the MoT expired on 31 December.

It’s not an S

Indicator lights are in the rear screen.

Spoiler has been added later.

Edit- I meant indicators

Good spot, I missed that. No front lip spoiler either.

Also .. there never was a tuscan S made in 2000 .. the early sportier tuscan was the red rose, the S spec came later.

The V5 does not say if it is a Standard Tuscan or an S, or at least mine doesn't. I know it's an S though because I bought it new and have the invoice to prove it.

Doesn’t particularly inspire confidence in the dealer if he/she doesn’t know what they are selling. I’d have thought they would have done their own research beforehand.

Tuscan S should have the following:

- Close ratio gearbox
- Gas discharge headlamps
- Higher compression, larger injectors, bigger bore exhaust
- Colour coded boot carpet (this may have come in later)
- A/C
- Front splitter
- Different rear light set up and rear spoiler
- Larger front brakes

It would be interesting to know how many of those things the seller’s car has. Aesthetically it’s obvious that the car isn’t an S, and it would be very odd for a customer to choose the “classic” styling with all the S goodies, and then tack a spoiler on later.

I know loads of non "S" cars with spoilers fitted and "S" badges , MK2s with cam covers painted to look like "S"s , buyer beware !!!!

On the other hand I bought an "S" direct from the factory which should have had a CR box and 4:73 diff but hadn't , it had GRIFF side lights so that made it even more special smile

Yes, but I drove around for 2 years illuminating the inside of the front wings before I realised the insulation tape had dropped off smile

When I was looking to buy, some traders were listing standard cars as ‘S’, even if they didn’t have any lookalike bits bolted on.

Caveat emptor!

Caveat emptor would be a great name for a special edition TVR smile

I see he's change the wording so it's a development S with engine rebuild hope the rebuild sheet has the data to show it's an S 8-) oh the V5 still says it's an S so I'm told
