Windscreen wiper blades rusty nuts - Replacement

I bet I am not the only one whose windscreen wiper blades nuts (the ones that hold the base of the wipers on the scuttle panel..) have gone rusty. Has anyone replaced these? Wondering how easy it would be to do it myself, and if you know where to source 2 new nuts and what the dimensions are? I could probably measure it and find a supplier on Google, but if anyone knows, it will be very helpful!

"Modern cars" may be a different thread but for three quid worth a try?
Failing that I'd slip them off, wire brush and paint satin black, or even mask up and do in situ?

Sounds like it is M20? Which seems rather large for it’s intended purchase.

Yep! No what you mean about TVR, I had a 2500m in the 90’s with the TR250 American spec engine, lead sled. Flycut about 1.5mm of the head and fitted a sports camshaft, now that did make the car go, I think it was good for 170bhp better than the fuel injected TR6. Spares box were a nightmare.
Cannot find my Zeus charts, will have a look in the morning and post back.

Unfortunately the ones on e-bay don't fit....the required pitch is finer... it does say 16 tpi ... I'll pop down to ALLTHREAD in Preston and get them to measure it for me

The spare linkage I have is made by "THE MATADOR CO. LTD" Part Number M402132 Ser No. 016 Date of manufacture 27/10/03, so i hope it is the same as used on my Tuscan convertible.

Matorador have confirmed the threaded tube is 3/4 UNEF 20 tpi , and the tube is stainless... another option maybe a brass nut but I've ordered from Motalia (the expensive ones
) ... I'll post when they arrive and I've checked them... I hope MK1s used the same mechanism, the guy from Matador said they supply Powers Performance and Racing Green parts , but the motors are now obsolete .

They fitted the thread Ok, the thread needed paint removing and oiling ... so 3/4 UNEF 20tpi. The nuts are 10mm thick which is probably twice as think as the mild steel original ones ,but I think will fit... only tried them on my spare linkage not on the car.

UPDATE !!! Spoke to a lovely guy at Motalia and he's got another nut available 0.25" thick and 1.01" across the flanges and he's going to machine some stainless washer to fit nicely, which will make a much more professional job.
