Kerridges MK1 S
Discussion
thanks everyone for the replies the car is not that close so sounds like it is not worth the effort of driving to see it and I have called them but have not had a call back and the chassis issues and the other advisories on the MoT are a concern as a number repeat year after year and therefore imply that it might not be the best maintained car.

Sorry to hear you got the silent treatment too.You may have seen it already but in case you haven’t a nice looking MK1 non S went up on eBay last night. I have no knowledge of the history of it, but it’s a nice colour and a sensible price.

Interior very tatty.
In no way am I looking to argue with you, but out of interest what makes you feel the interior is tatty? I’ve only seen the photos, but the inside looked ok to me. I’m keen to know what things to look for / improve. Thanks
I've been looking for a while now and, unless I'm very lucky to find exactly what I want, the cost of buying something and getting it right is about £40k. Same with this one.

Many thanks for the feedback.
Guess it goes to show how a few select a dealer shots don’t show the whole picture.
The other car I’ve noticed is a 4.5 S on for £29k. Colour is not the most exciting, but it’s had a lot of work done to it.
Autotrader add says that one is Cat D, but the add wording (on various sites, makes no reference to that.

Do you mean the Spectraflair Silver X511 USX (see also W9 PAR)? If so, the pictures don't really "show it off" do they? I have info on this one as well if you want to PM me. Guess it goes to show how a few select a dealer shots don’t show the whole picture.

It was originally blue then Lotus New Aluminium before the Spectraflair in 2012. It also has some "Hollywood" history.

Thanks. The one I mean is described as ‘White Gold metallic’ by Britannia Cars £28,980 on eBay. (I don’t think I’m allowed to post the link). It was originally blue then Lotus New Aluminium before the Spectraflair in 2012. It also has some "Hollywood" history.
I’ve already bought my S, but this one popped up just after I bought mine so I don’t need the details (but thanks). The specs/upgrades on this Britannia car seems amazing so I was just drawing a comparisons to mine…still happy with what I’ve got, but if you’re looking for one where all the money has been spent on the big upgrades then this would seem to be a good buy if it’s not a cat D.

I would be interested in what you know about this car as I am thinking of seeing this one too but there seems to be gaps in the history. It was originally blue then Lotus New Aluminium before the Spectraflair in 2012. It also has some "Hollywood" history.

The white gold S is a Cat D. There is a thread on Faceb explaining the background.
Potentially a lovely car for someone.
Thanks for confirming. I don’t use Facebook so haven’t seen it there. IMO a bit naughty for the dealer not to state Cat D in the ad.Potentially a lovely car for someone.
Agree with you though - if you’re not worried about the Cat status, that’s a lot of car for the money.

There’s also the first ever Tuscan S up for sale at the moment, but seems to have a pretty hefty premium for its claim to fame IMO.
Now I’ve bought one I really should stop looking at the ads, but having been scouring the classifieds for a year or so no hunting for my car, it’s hard to break the habit

I don’t know the car, but I have dealt with Kerridges for nearly 30 years. You’ll get proper old school service, they’ve been going over 100 years in the same family. I’ve bought 4 TVR’s,2Nobles, a Mini, MGF from them over the years and have sent friends and family to them. They have also done all the servicing on the sports cars (Noble is with them at the moment). Try and have a long detailed chat with them ( maybe not easy in these current times with constant staff shortages),any issues of concern will be dealt with I’m sure .

Here's what I gleaned from the 2nd/3rd owner (purchased the care from Silverstone TVR in 2005) and is on PH, plus a web search:2000 First owner (Scotland) rejected the car (originally blue) and returned to TVR
2003 TVR resprayed the car Lotus New Aluminium and sent it to the US for the Looney Tunes Back In Action movie
ca. 2010 4.5 Powers upgrade
2012 Minor accident—hole in the service bonnet—repainted Spectra-flair Silver
2018 Sold to Parva Cars
2020 Sold as W9 PAR at H&H Auctions £26,438
2021 at auction again sold for £23,310 (?)
Usual repairs along the way, including Nitrons a ca. 20k. Not known who has done the servicing before Str8six. Presume Silverstone until they went. As at 2018 interior tired, driver’s seat badly worn. Airbox has seen better days. No rear window bag. Windscreen chipped.
