Interesting one. Got mine also about 1 month ago and although mostly running it in by myself, one day the wife came with me for a jaunt -or rather didn't- as the passenger seat belt locked and would not release...
Thought it was a problem so when at the TVR centre a few days after I asked them about it. Their first response was "were you on a camber?"
Supposedly (this may be complete bullspit but hey who knows) the seatbelt is sensitive even to a little camber and locks up. What you do is get in a drive off and then the seatbelt releases itself.
Not sure if this is true but have had no problems since...but I have never had any problems with the driver's seatbelt and I park on a camber all the time...?

Tis true, in my Griffith the passenger seatbelt will never unlock when parked on a camber (I guess it's the same for the Tuscan). Need to wait until we get to a flat bit before putting it on!
There's probably something you can do with the angle etc to fix but I've never bothered.

I agree with the above. My Chimaera did it - but the Tuscan locks up even more. I would look upon it as the seatbelts being sensitive - a good thing. Just drive off and they unlock. Usually happens to either the drivers or passengers - but never together at the same time (must be domething to do with being mounted the other way around from each other?
Don't worry about it - unless of course it refuses to unlock completely.

Yep, mine's the same. When I got my Griff it had this problem, so the dealer changed both belts at the first service. Just the same as they were before. Always the passenger side on mine but as others have said it does release once you get on absolutely flat ground.(best to carry a spirit level with you).
One of those minor irritations you learn to live with.

My Tuscan suffers from the amazing tightening passenger seat belt trick. The driver's side is fine, but my girlfriend gets progressively dissected when stopping and starting in traffic. The only solution I've discovered so far is to ensure that there is always slack in the seatbelt by holding it forward - excellent for comfort, crap for safety.
Had the exact same problem with the driver's belt on the Chim. It started off as happening when the car was on a camber, then got steadily worse, culminating in a 20-minute cursing session in the pouring rain trying to get the belt free so I could drive the car.
Being trapped in your seat at a blind junction, unable to lean forward to see if anything's coming, is an experience that varies from annoying to terrifying.
Rather than shrugging and saying 'they're all like that' it's about time Mr Wheeler's lot got this sorted out.
