I was wondering whether any tuscan owners had had their suspension upgraded to help cure the cars 'skitishness' and keep the car planted better on fast A and B roads? If so how much does this upgrade cost and which companys do it??

Also is a simple re-alighnment all that is needed or is a full upgrade needed.

thanks.

I got the geometry checked/corrected by Dreadnought TVR in Callander last week - cost £60. Since then I've done a 4 hour track session and 700 miles of driving over the weekend. I can safely say that it handles like a different car, much more steady and requiring far less mental and physical effort to keep it on the road.

Without the geometry set, I would not have been able to cover the miles. I would have been too tired, too scared over bumpy roads at speed, etc.

Before spending money on upgrades, get the geo checked.

I had the geometry reset and it does make a lot of difference, but the suspension is still a bit to soft so am going for a Nitron upgrade from Joolz.

go to any track day and you can see tuscans spinning off but it needn't be like that. I'm sure any of the specialists out there can do a kit to suit you, I myself have a choice of nine different kits to suit all driving styles and pockets.

Jools...

I'm very interested in the suspension kit, as I'd like to firm up the ride a little more for the track (and probably the road). Although, I've not yet had any real problems with my car spinning off on track... and I don't tend to hold back. :-/

A Tuscan is quite a spin-happy car so you're doing well if you've not done this yet
from your relpy it sounds like you're not wanting anything too stiff which is good for a number of reasons, mainly traction related. Fortunately the Tuscan (as almost all TVRs) is too stiff at the back relative to the front... but because you sit more or less over the rear wheels you can stiffen the front without sacrificing ride quality since you can keep the rear virtually as it is, then improve the damping over the appaulling std fitments which always seem to leak anyway
the only other thing you need to consider is exactly how serious about the track days you are, and then select the best kit in your price range. mail me direct at joolz@joospeed.net and we'll discuss the options open to you.
