Hi Guys, i've been on here for a while but haven't posted before. I can't see a recent thread about tyre choices- do you guys have a preference for the Tuscan? Mine is MK1 if that makes a difference. Not sure how old my Bridgestones are so its a good excuse to fork out for some new shoes on her and probably get the geometry lined up as well.

Thanks!

Several threads on this subject going back a long way, but as tyres evolve (and also go out of production) it's worth asking and answering this question. However it would be helpful to state what sort of driving you do so answers can be more accurate for you, there's no point being told a focused grippy track biased tyre is best if most of your driving is touring in colder climates rotate

Personally I've always used and been happy with GoodYear Assymetrics, currently with 3's on the back and 2's on the front - soon to be changed but I can't get them to wear out! They do everything I want of them - which doesn't include track work, but does mean they get driven energetically in all weathers as well as long distance in summer temperatures.

It is worth keeping an eye on the T350/Sagaris thread as they have basically the same car as us and the same dilema with tyre choice.

How long have you had your car. If it hasn't had the geo done yet then I'd suggest making it a priority. Take it to an experienced TVR specific garage and the chances are they'll transform the way the car behaves. Ask on here for recommendations near you.

Welcome to the forum by the way.

eta: go for as low a load rating as you can.

Thanks S6boy. Good point about the type of driving- it definitely isn't for the track, more for dry Sunday morning blasts (albeit some cold) or weekend get aways in the summer. Looking at other threads Goodyears do seem to get most peoples vote.
I've had the car for a couple of years but not been used much due to other commitments. To be honest I always thought i'd end up upgrading to nitrons (standard suspension now) but it certainly wont be this year, so the minimum like you say is the Geo and decent tyres.
Again I know this has been talked about on other threads but for the driving I will be doing would you swap the width from the factory set up? Currently 235/40 front and 255/35 rear.
Thanks

Only downside is i find them a little bit noisy.

They will have a date stamp on them. A four digit code which is week no. Year no. I.e 3408 would be week 34, 2008.
This is date of manufacture which could be quite a bit before they were sold and fitted to the car.
