Hi all - noticed one of my front indicators has stopped working on a 2000 Tuscan. From the outside it is clear fronted - from what I've read the outer lens is sealed in - does that mean the bulb is too? I've tried poking around and though the other front bulbs were easier to change when they needed doing this is not so. I'm not sure how it is even fitted - can the bulb be removed without taking the lens out too?

Any advice very gratefully received!

Many thanks,

D

It’s pretty much the same as the other bulbs, remove the big bonnet, remove the inspection hatch and you can get to it. It’s the most difficult of the three because it’s the top one and furthest back, but should be doable.

Apply some copper grease / vaseline to the threads on refit - the metal on metal can corrode together nicely

Yep! it's a ba****d of a job!

Normally, the coarse thread of the lamp holder and (glued in) lens body means you struggle to undo after "X" number of years corrosion build up. When and if you separate the two, definitely apply grease to the threads.

If it won't budge, then the last resort is to knock the whole assembly out of the wing and - if your lucky, and the lens doesn't break, separate on the bench - or, buy a new lens ass'y (think racetech direct sell just the lens?) and epoxy glue to the wing....having changed the lamp!

Usual TVR job!!

Going through the same pain myself.
I've found an LED unit for about £30 which should work. As stated above I had to take a mallet to mine but cracked the lens so as that would need to be replaced thought an alternative would be a good idea.
