New Tuscan Owner – Where can I get spare Pedal Box Bolts
Discussion
Hi All,
This is my first post here having finally scratched the itch and changed from a 996 Turbo to this:

Anyway, I like to tinker and have recently been checking for signs of any of the normal Tuscan issues. This included the accelerator cable which has been changed to the later cable and bracket with no signs of fraying
But the bad news was I had to butcher one of the domed headed allen bolts to remove the pedal box cover. I’ve looked for replacements on various TVR parts websites without success.
So, could anyone point me in the right direction of where I can get them, or alternatively tell me what pitch the bolts are?
Cheers
Paul

Norfolk fasteners, Dereham.
Kebrell nuts and bolts Ltd ,Ttetford.
Take the bolt to one of these suppliers ?
Thanks for suggestions. I was thinking of Norfolk Fasteners as a back-up plan, not sure they'd stock chrome plated domed headed allen bolts but switching all 3 to s/steel is an option Norfolk fasteners, Dereham.

The 996 Turbo is an awesome car, mine was ballistic being a re-mapped X50. The interior was a nice place to be with plenty of leather and optional carbon fibre trim. For all-weather cross-country performance, they’re still fairly near the top of the heap. For me this also ended up being Turbo’s Achilles heel; the performance limits are that high that you rarely have opportunity to get anywhere near them, below them the Turbo’s that competent it’s not that engaging to drive, and you could be in any high-end German offering. Overall, I had a great time with the Turbo, keeping it a lot longer than I intended, but I don’t think there will be any desire to return to one in the future. Two cars I’d love to own.
A Tuscan has been on my bucket list for a long time and still the honeymoon period, but so far, I only wish I made the switch sooner. Although the all-round performance is lower it’s a more engaging and rewarding car to drive. Unlike the Turbo I’m working up towards finding where the limits are, but even bumbling along in traffic it puts a smile on your face. I’ve seen the interior described as low-rent - it may not have all the toys, but it doesn’t have all the hard plastic switch gear either. I think of the interior as engineered rather than designed and the more I drive the car the more I like it. Then there's the Speed 6 trump card - that noise! As my wife says, its bonkers but in a good way.
Reminds me of that Tiff quote at the end of the Fifth / Top Gear review.
"Money being no object, I'd have a 996 Turbo for the daily, and a little Tuscan for the weekend"

I swapped mine out for unbrako bolts so they would not fall apart when you take them out next time. Got them from Westfield fasteners great company and only cost a few pounds including postage.
Thanks for your suggestion.I'd originally thought they were M8 bolts but couldn't get a new bolt to thread. Having seen the bolts you'd suggested were metric ran a M8 tap through the captive nut and problem solved.
I think I'll get some of those unbrako bolts to save any future butchering.

Feel free to drop me a PM if you have any questions about it.
Hi and thanks.
JA said it had previously been owned by a couple of people involved with TVRCC (and I therefore guess probably also on PH).
Looking at the history file and your username am I correct in thinking you bought it in July 2014?
cheers

When I bought it I made contact with the two previous owners before me, both were serial TVR owners.

It does in deed. Might just be his sales patter, but seems to have a genuine affection for it having used it for the LM classic previously. When I bought it I made contact with the two previous owners before me, both were serial TVR owners.
