maybe he should have gone for a fake subaru impreza air scoop then?
didja know the original bronze concept tuscan actually had a subtle air scoop? (www.b-link.co.uk/talkingtvr/tuscan/tuscan01large.jpg)

I think it looks OK - like the air scoopie thingy, because I saw the upside down trumpet in the middle of the floor plan when the car was up on ramps a few weeks ago - I will definately not now be 'tippy-toeing' through any puddles this winter!
The main feature about the outside of the Tuscan is the lack of outside features, so technically speaking, there might be practical benefits from moving the air inteke, might have been implemented more subtley perhaps. If he likes it - thats the main thing!

I dunno. I can see one looking ok on a hot-hatch. But it just doesn't match the design of the Tuscan one bit. The diffuser (which I do like!) follows the sweeping lines of the rear-end. Surely if a duct had to be added, it could have followed the styling a bit more, rather than just using an off-the-shelf scoop out of a Demon Tweeks catalogue?
Regardless of the looks tho, it still doesn't make any sense. It just provides a hole through the car. It isn't going to make any difference practically, since on the other side of the scoop you'll just have the main bonnet... unless of course he's cut through that as well, and the duct feeds air all the way through the secondary bonnet to the engine bay.

The film finding fortune stars llaria D’Elia who is in martin scorsese,s gangs of New York due out in Dec 2002. This film is a medium budget type so only on small release in 2003 the US, but might come over here later. Based around Thelma and Louise meets easy rider sort of thing, the car was used as the ‘baddys’ car up here in Scotland.
The car is a mid 2001 model with Tuscan RR mods and custom suspension.
(All Tuscans have really bad stability problem at high speeds (140+) when lifting off only to find it takes 3 lanes to keep it under control, the rear diffuser was built in Germany and took for ever to get right but now fab. The car is now totally stable and has no lift at the back now at any speed. The diffuser is metal braced from the back and is strong enough to stand on, never mind at 180+ which it does quite a lot.
MMMM the duct yes some may find it odd but when you see it in the flesh you would change your mind, and it is the same type used on the Tuscan R race car and it looks great. And it is their for function not form, it goes all the way through both bonnets in to an adjustable air restrictor and in to the base of the air box which feeds the lovely roller baring throttle bodies as the standard ones suffer spindle wear as some of you might know and this eliminates lumpy ride at low speeds, as for performance makes my old Red Rose model look like a shopping trolley.

Yahoo, sounds like a very well sorted car, rear diffuser is very unobtrusive and sounds effective, why couldn't TVR do something like that rather than that god awful Tuscan S duck tail 'thingy'! Also where did you get the suspension sorted, and what did it entail? I'm sure alot of Tuscan owners are itching to hear!!
