First drive in 5 months....
Discussion
Picked up the Tuscan today after a 5 month layup whilst we moved and renovated our new house.
Normally drive it every couple of weeks year round but barely clapped eyes on since end of August and had almost convinced myself it might be time to move it on.
Started first time and ran perfectly on a gentle warm up drive
Can’t believe I was thinking of selling!

What’s made you decide to sell David. A few of us have ended up selling over the last six months or so.
Its just the right time now as my goals change as I get older ! I have enjoyed the car for the seven years, had my fun with it , it will be sold in much better condition than when I bought it ,and I have been using motorcycles more recently for fun rather than the car . I did have views of keeping it for ever as the prices increase however this means always having somewhere to keep it . I like the car still but for me few things are for ever . It can have a new adventure and so can I .I will start in April time with a few jobs on the car cosmetic and a service, new tires etc and then put it up for sale at a fixed price. If I sell great and if I dont its no tragedy . I always do seem to sell cars and bikes though so lets see what happens.
When I sold my previous TVR a fellow came from Germany with a bag of cash , we took it to the Bank, paid and checked it in to my account and he drove back to Germany. We agreed the price not reduced before he traveled to UK , all very easy Very nice fellow too.

please do not sell you will be missing it and in years to come you will say to your self god I wish I still had the Tuscan....
To be honest I’ve not really missed mine at all. Too many compromises, and the roads just aren’t like they used to be.
New car makes a big noise and stays on the road

I'm in a similar position to a couple of other posters. Long term Tuscan (and other TVR's) owner. Don't need the money but a combination of lack of use and changing priorities also make me think it's time to move mine on.
I've had a few very early chats with dealers about p/x when I've spotted something I like, and quite a few don't want to take a Tuscan in. Others have but we've never got as far as talking money as the cars I've looking at have sold before I've had chance to see them.
I've discussed SoR with a TVR dealer local to me, and it was looking like an easy £5k spread between retail and what I'd be getting back by the time the buyer haggling, warranty and their fees were taken into account.
I'd prefer the p/x route as it gets things concluded quickly, otherwise might consider a private sale but the hassle factor is a major consideration. Of course I haven't actually had a p/x price against anything so SoR might be more attractive after all.
It generally takes me ages to decide to change which is part of the problem... SoR runs the risk of me buying a replacement then taking the Tuscan back! Currently I seem to be spending far too much time looking at local TVR/sports car dealer stock to see if a deal could be had!

Well now its warm and sunny .........
The car went yesterday to a fellow about 50 miles away who right now intends to keep long term. The car drove off hugely better than when I bought it and even with the money in my Bank I cant see anything to replace it with right now .
As others have said 6 years with the Tuscan that is the longest I have ever kept a toy and much of it I enjoyed very much .
Thank goodness I have motorcycles my other passion or my garage would be very sad .
Good luck to you Tuscan owners especially the newest ones
David
