Can any one make any sense of the huge gulf in prices of Tuscan 2s?

An example, although there are many

One is nearly twice the price of the other. Many similar examples of chalk and cheese pricing with little apparent logic.

Any ideas?

Str8Six are always at the top end of the market price-wise and bigging this one up on being a rare Mk3 S from the end of production whilst the other is a very early Mk2.

IMO Tuscans will always have a wide variation in price (vs Sag/T350) because the overall volume (ie Mk1's) was much higher but he later sub-model variants were very low volume. It comes down to whether you think a low volume sub-model merits a big premium. Personally I prefer the design purity of the Mk1.

A big part of the price difference is a MK 3 S against a Mk 2 non S. Also very recent engine rebuild.

Thanks, yes I guess.
I understand that there'd be a difference, just not that big a difference!

A bit strange it's 1st service was after 18 months and 10k miles . No 1000 mile 1st service and oil change or 6k , running in oil in for 10k miles ?.
The first owner didn't seem to bother much .. I wonder if that contributed to the oval cylinder ?

How would you value a 2005 non S with a respray and a recent 4.3 power rebuild?

I must say I'm pleased that finally MK2 Tuscans and Convertibles are being considered in the same region as Sags . When I bought my fully spec'd S Convertible in 2006 it was similarly priced to the same spec'd Sag . I sold my Sag for 77k in April this year, but kept the convertible because I prefer it smile especially with the roof off .
The Tuscan you refer to , I guess is the one for sale and has been for a few months now. Ex Lady Topazs 2005 targa, which featured in SPRINT when the pod dash was modified (because you couldn't read it in bright sunlight) . It looks like a good buy , but "the pod marmite dash" ( you either love it or hate the baboons bum smile ).
