Is it possible to lock the doors from the inside?

I mean, if I'm waiting at a light, what's to stop someone from walking up to the car, pushing the little button under the wing mirror and causing the door to pop open?

The green alarm light above the dash panel between the drivers console and the stereo is also a button. Push this to disable the wing mirror openers and the boot button effectively central locking the car.

Only problem is that you cannot re-enable the boot release without setting and unsetting the alarm (at least not on my Tuscan!).

I have the same problem on my Tuscan. It's particularly annoying if you press it by accident when using the immobiliser and don't realise. A couple of times I've gone to fill up with petrol and just end up looking like a cabbage, fumbling with the boot and then the alarm etc

Shamus,

Just a quick question but why use the immobiliser key at all? If the immobiliser sets then don't you just plip the alarm fob to clear it?

It's a laziness thing really! If I stop for petrol (for example) with the roof off and my wife in the car, I don't blip the alarm when I go to pay because the windows are down and setting the alarm winds them back up again! However, when I get back to the car, it's been unalarmed for more than 10 seconds so need unimmobilising!

In that situation, I just put the key in the ignition and press the button on the keyfob - it disarms the imobiliser without doing anything to the alarm or windows.

On a related subject, does anyone know what the small black dial on the left of the pod does? I know the one on the right side is mentioned in the manual (although I can't remember what that one does either - contrast?) but I can't find anything for the one on the left.

Thanks.

The small black dial on the left of the pod adjusts the display backlighting intensity (the right dial does wiper speed). I tried it again recently, very little in terms of noticable effect.

The dials on the sides of the pod are multi-function. The right side dial adjusts wiper speed and base idle, the left hand side adjusts backlight and valve clearances.

I've got my coat...

I've been able to adjust the wiper speed and baklighting, How do you use these to adjust the base idle and valve clearances?

Sorry - I was only joshing (I'll have been Tuscan-less for 2 weeks on Tuesday, waiting for the pod to come back from the factory...are headaches, nausea and cr*p jokes Tuscan withdrawal symptoms?)
