A one hour trip to Reading today managed to rack up 1000 miles on the odometer... Numbers just running round like crazy.

Speedo has always been a bit erratic at times but I'd thought it was just the transducer and had been planning to replace it. But usually it starts to fluctuate by +/- 10mph and occasionally drop to zero, but this was out of the norm and showing 160 to 200 a lot of the time and moving all over the place even when static... Even still the miles racked up correlated in no way with the speedo. I watched it flicking through a mile every few seconds while sitting stationary with the speedo not fitting for a few minutes. Crazy

It's stopped now, but I want my 1000 miles back I've just done the major service and I don't want to have to do the next in just 5000 ;-)

Anyone ever seen such madness before?

Mines doing exactly the same. Powers investigating in a couple of weeks during the engine rebuild, so if I hear anything before you get yours sorted I'll post an update on here....

Mine was doing something similar recently, the speedo would be reading fine, then jumping around like crazy.
At one point, I was behind a Polo on the M6 and the speedo thought I was doing 180mph.
Turned out it was the transducer, which luckily was covered by my extended warranty.

Mine reset itself when the LCD screen was replaced. Still need to get round to contacting Paul smith and hope original mileage can be added to what it's saying now.

Mine did exactly the same thing. Stuck it up on axle stands, took out the old transducer on the diff mount and basically came apart in my hand. The aluminium is very thin.
Bought a new one from HHC which is slightly larger diameter. You drill out the threaded mount and bolt the new one in, and even with my cack handedness worked first time.

I think mine had the uprated transducer fitted at the rebuild... A new one on order I think.

I might keep a track of my mileage for the next 1000 miles to get back to a true mileage in the Odometer.

Yep mine did this literally all the time, mostly didn't register at all but could be sat still & doing 200MPH. New speedo transducer sorted it out & had a dash refurb done by Paul Smith (PS Electronics) who corrected the mileage for me as well. Never missed a beat since thumbup
