Diagnostic Codes (Details)
Discussion
Every time I start the car, for a split second I get a Diagnostic 0 code. This disappears again almost instantly. There does not seem to be a problem, so I wonder is this just part of the routine start-up procedure??? The manual does not really help (nothing new there then!).
Still only had the car less than 3 weeks - so on the learning curve!!

Get this on mine as well but more importantly have noticed that in the recent hotspell, if i am sat in traffic(live in London..so that's quite often) i have twice had diagnostic code L which mean's that the car will cut out if she is allowed to idle. As you can imagine it can be a pain, last friday on the A406 from slough heading East had to use the handbrake and all other mean's available just so she wouldn't cut out this is after i parked her in Hendon for an hour to let her cool down since that happened i have had 0 oil pressure and EFI warning's a couple of times for no apparent reason (just starting up etc.)but this seem's to rectify itself but come's back again sporadically.
Did the same journey on Monday (another scorcher) and the same thing happened decided to take the M25 home and whilst she's travelling fine but even after 40 miles of m-way cruising the first roundabout near Waltham abbey and cut's out again.
It only seem's to happen in the heat and if in stop-start traffic. Oh well have spoken with dealer and will be taking her in but it's a bit embarresing to keep cutting out even though it bring's a smile to the faces of the type of wan*ers who begrudge other people (sometimes specifically people like me) having a nice car.
Hope it get's sorted quickly as i had the red rose spec. suspension fitted about a month ago and it has transformed the driving experience completely no more white knuckle rides, moves as one peice rather than the disjointed fell of old. Bags more confidence in her ability and the first time i have really felt 'love' for the Tuscan since changing from the Chim. I guess this is how the car should have felt first time around but never mind best grand or so i have spent.

I thought that these error codes on startup are just the pod registering low values before the sensors and everything are powered up. For example, I get a load of quick messages on mine when I start the car - low oil pressure, 0 volts, frost warning etc etc. But they're for a split second....
I think you're worrying too much! I don't really think the errors are much to worry about unless they actually stay on after the car is running for a second or so, or they come on whilst you're driving along.
Also, if there's an error or problem, it'll stay displayed on the pod until you clear it or the problem goes away.
My favourite has to be Code K. Knew what it was when it happened the first time and I had 60litres of fuel all of a sudden! Knew the pick-up was in the boot, under the flap. Found it was the cans of tire weld flying around and knocking the plug off the sensor under hard cornering. Lol.. Anyone else had this?

Thanks everyone. TVR ownership is a voyage of discovery be the car new or old. If the manual described absolutely everything it wouldn't be half as much as fun. Thanks for putting my mind at rest.
Paul, thanks for posting the diagnostic codes. I saw tham on another thread. On seeing code "O" on the list and then on my start up it started me thinking that something was astray! All seems normal then.
Steve, yes I should get some pics up - when it stops raining long enough to take some outside. Everytime it has been sunny I have been out driving it - not stopping long enough for photos!!
The car is the Crystal Topaz/Cream interior as SOLD in the Pistonheads classifieds. 18" wheels, new spec Toyos all round and a Micheldever wheel alignment set up for the RR suspension. It drives superbly - much better than some demonstrators I have had a go in. Also got aircon, DAB tuner etc and the benefit of a recent 12000 mile £2K service! Absolutley mint, absolutely loving it! Miss my lovely Chimaera and the V8 noise - but the Speed Six is just different, oh, and alot quicker!!!
Probably still lots of questions to ask you chaps yet, bear with me!
