Reliability probs?

You can still reject the car under the sale of goods act. This qualifies as 'goods of un-merchantable quality'
Even if the car goes outside of warranty, you still have a strong case. A court would decide that the car could reasonably be expected to have lasted longer than it did, unless of course it is your fault that it's broken!
Personally I wouldn't have put up with it, and Mr Wheeler would have read all about this particular case in Auto Express about 4 months ago if it were me, and it was a warranty fault.
Jas.

Cheers guys v.helpfull. All sorts of probs ranging from new wiring loom to battery not keeping charge (with optimate battery charger fitted). Plus the dealer is unbelievably pathetic at dealing with any probs, very dissapointing ownership experience!

Out of curiousity, who was the dealer? If you dont want to say ill understand. My Tuscan is 3 months away now...reading your story does make me very concerned.

The dealer is based in the west country (devon) don't really want to name names!, hopefully ours is a particularly bad example and that yours will be a car that you can actually drive with confidence rather than constant fear that you will never reach your destination!

I think I know the dealer you mean. I was in the area last February and dropped in to enquire about used Tuscans. Absolutely useless place, I’ve never received such poor service. I spent 40 minutes asking the salesman Tuscan related questions and couldn’t get a single straight answer, nor would he give me an exact price for any of the cars he was trying to sell. The guy even had the audacity to claim he had never heard of any Tuscans needing an engine rebuild! He was a greasy little ferret like character with a crooked nose that I suspect had been broken at some point – by the time I left I was very close to breaking it again
I know exactly the dealer you mean and I agree - Total bunch of c***s. In fact, I've posted exactly the same post about the same dealer a few months ago.
As a lad (I came from Somerset) I used to go down to glop over the cars (obviously not wasting their time or causing any damage, just looking etc) and was even asked to leave at one point.
I also used to look in the Porsche and Ferrari dealers, never treated like a muppet there. Porsche guy even used to offer me a coffee and chat when he wasn't busy! (You can guess what I now own of course)

I was on my way to Cornwall last month and the exhaust on my Tuscan came loose. I phoned the dealership you are talking about and they said 'bring it in and we will see what we can do'. I arrived and the car went straight on the ramps. Exhaust welded and me on my way in about 30 mins!... and they didn't charge me ... and I didn't buy the Tuscan from them ... so they can't be all bad.
