I don't know do you ?
Discussion
Hello everybody.
Could anybody help me with the Tuscan models.I 've carried out a couple of searches and only come across the tuscan S 4.0ltr and the tuscan 3.6. However when people advertise them for sale they only put the engine size.
Q. Am I to assume all the 4.0lts are tuscan 'S' or am I just plain stupid.
Many thanks in advance for any help

Some earlier Tuscans were also 4.0 non S versions... ours is a 4.0L 2000 on a W.
By "some", that'll be every single one before the 3.6 engine was released (in 2002, IIRC)
Breakdown of engines, approx. chronologically:
4.0
4.0 Red Rose
4.0 S (same engine block as RR)
3.6
3.6 RR

Thanks brilliant info.
Whats the performance figues on the early 4.0ltr tuscan ?
3.6/4.0 standard - 350BHP quoted. 3.6 is smoother, but 4.0 (in my experience) is torquier. Any can be taken up to 390BHP+ with the RR upgrade, anyway.
If you're thinking of getting one, I wouldn't worry too much about the performance differences between the 3.6 & 4.0... Extra 40BHP from the RR/S is quite nice, tho (if not "usable" unless you're really going for it). I'd say that uprated suspension is the best way of getting improved performance from it, tho.

J_S_G,
I do not know of a 3.6 RR officially?
Is the modification comparable to 4.0 RR? Probably?
Not sure of the details on the 3.6 RR conversion (never had to look into 'em)... I know that TVR Power do 3.6 to 4.0 conversions, so that may may well be part of it. Rods had his T350T (3.6) RRd, so he might be someone to ask...

Here's another question. On this site I just noticed the new prices for convetibles and hard tops.
Q: Aren't they all convertible/Targa type roofs?
Please forgive my ignorance, everytime I think I Know what I am looking for something else crops up.
Tuscan Mk1 was only a T-Top. All of the cars can have the roof panels & rear screen taken out.

However, a "true" convertible option, i.e. the softtop version of the Tuscan Mk2 has just come out, as well.

My car is a 2003 model and is also a 4.0. I think you'll find that a lot of 2003 cars are in fact 4.0.
