I'm in the market for a "nice" car again, and having done a lot of research and reading up, I'd love to get a Tuscan Convertible.

Currently there's one for sale at Str8Six and one at Racing Green cars - does anyone know either of these cars?

Also anything in particular on the convertible I need to look out for on inspection, aside from what's in the various buyers guides?

If you're meaning the spectraflair car at Racing Green then it used to be owned by one of the North East TVRCC members so I know it very well. Always looked after by HHC whilst in the North East as he lived just down the Tyne Valley from Hexham.

The former owner is a proper TVR guy and uses his car properly but doesn't abuse them. The colour is stunning and suits the shape very well and has a decent spec. Interior colour scheme wouldn't be my personal choice but it does compliment the exterior well.

Here it is on the Le Mans classic parade laps from 2012.

And again at a North East car show in the line up...

As for anything to look out for on the convertibles, just all the usual checks for a Tuscan plus check the roof for damage, especially the rear screen and he roof panel where it goes in the boot, it's quite a tight fit! Also, check that the boot stays open, the stays get tired and I'm sick of cracking my head on the boot lid as it slowly descends...

Otherwise, they're great cars.

Check the boot surround for marks... The roof goes in the boot easily , but a careless owner will make scratches. The rear perspex screen will problem have marks on it caused by the stays... you will be able to polish them out. Check out the register on here , most are known (which is why some salesmen don't like me) biggrin
