Tuscan Instument Consol

Has anyone experienced any malfunction of the instrument consol, mine commences ok but then proceeds to to flash up an EFI problem - although all appears ok - until i hit a bump and then it returns to normal its almost if something is loose

Funnily enough, I too have had the "WARNING, EFI FAULT" problem too.

It started yesterday. I have had it come on a couple of times in the past, but it has always gone again - either after a few minutes, or by restarting the engine. The past couple of days though it's come on and stayed on. With the fault, the engine has run quite lumpy (although the crackles and pops have improved!)and occasionally the red change up light has flashed on at low revs - bizarre!

I am assuming that the lumpy running and the EFI fault are linked (what is EFI, is it "electronic/economy fuel injection"?), probably dragging the change up light into the mess!...
The weather has been the hottest my Tuscan has seen, although I doubt if that causes the problem - my thinking being that it needs a service! The 12000 mile service is due in about 1300 miles and I am seriously thinking about servicing it now.

Anybody care to advise/reassure me, I'm all ears!

Hi ....I have had that warning flash up after washing the car. Apparently water can get into the system somewhere especially if the car is parked on a slope nose facing down. Hopefully it is something minor like that...good luck !

As far as I know it stands for Electronic Fuel Injection. So it is the software that maps fuel inputs etc...

Well known fault.
Suprised it is still happening. It was one of the earliest faults to be identified.

Dealers should know how to sort it out, as its either a sensor or an adjustment somewhere.
