I constantly seem to toil with wheel vibration at the front between 90 and 100 mph. Toyo Proxes.

Tyre pressure variations make a differance.

Car has just had 24k service and had geometries done.

Drove from Yorkshire to Stirling last night and still have 'mild' vibration ... varies by road surface ?

running at 26psi on front.......
any suggestions ???

.... quick response would be great as I have a 250 mile blast back down on Sunday.. so opportunity to try out any pressure variations...

I run 24f 26r. No problems. Have you asked your dealer what he thinks?

I run mine at 24 psi all round. When I first had the Toyos fitted there was no vibration at all, although now the front tyres are a bit worn (on the inside edge) sometimes get a bit of vibration road surface dependant at the speeds you mention. Does it go away if you go faster?

Yes it does go away if I drive 'thru it'..... my tyres more worn on the inside as the geometry was out.

Appreciate your inputs, thanks.

Settled on 24f 26r and had a pretty smooth ride most of the way back down from Stirling to yorkshire....

You all should try the M74 if you havent already its great fun........... I just covered 250 miles travelling down this evening ..and could turn round and drive back, it was so good !

Latest factory advice for 18inch rims is 24 rear 22 front PSI if that helps - had the same problem hence why i know !

22 front

Only time my front tyres dropped to 22, I had some very hairy moments taking corners "at pace". Never again!

Vibration at that speed seems to be a fairly common problem (and a lot of Tuscans wear the inside edge of their front tyres even with correct geometry).

I had the same vibration problem for ages and in the end it was wheel balancing. Most mainstream tyre places just don’t have wheel balancing machines of high enough precision for large wheels with low profile tyres. Silverstone TVR sorted the vibration out on mine. They took the wheels to somewhere with a “hunter balancer” wheel balancing machine. They now have their own high spec balancing kit so it may be worth giving them a call for some advice.

Have you tried HHC mactusc? If they can't do it I'm sure they will know someone who can.

Where abouts are you in Gods Country?

What's the tread like? just changed my tyres and it made a positive difference to the 90-120 speed vibration.

joanna

tyre treads are pretty good overall but slightly worn on inside, too early to change.... however I must say that the last time I put put new tyres on the front the issue disapeared..........
for a while, but creeps back
