Hi all I'm thinking of having my beloved tusc wrapped , I'm only wanting to have this done because I believe the wrapping will protect the front end , which has many stone chips on it ! If I have a front end respray it will only chip again am I right in my assumption your thoughts and knowledge on this subject are greatly appreciated
From someone that has had it done to their own Tuscan. Don't.
It's almost as expensive as getting a re spray and when you get nics and scratches you end up with little patches to cover them up.
I did it as part of the event I run, but I won't be doing it again.
Cost for materials £2200 inc VAT
Labour was free as it was done for charity, but he had 5 people for a week doing it, over 280 hours of work.
Dread to think what it would have been full price.

If you try and wrap a chipped panel the chips will show through, I had my old Tam done which was ok. Think the present owner has had it taken off. I wanted a colour change to white from a dark grey car. Be careful who does wrap if it's their first Tvr walk away.
I loved it but it did go tatty in some areas, use 3m stuff which is best.

That seems extortionate as most charge 1500-2000 to supply and fit. It's almost as expensive as getting a re spray and when you get nics and scratches you end up with little patches to cover them up.

As said if you wrap over a car that has stone chips they'll all show through, maybe they'll be better bidded being colour coded but still it's not going to look great
I'd be mainly concerned at any cuts left on lacquer underneath as they trim off excess with craft knives iirc
Thanks guys for the feedback . I've been to a garage in enfield and seen some of there work it looked very impressive they had an r8 with a Crome finish which I would imagine must be a nightmare to do , but it looked a proper job and he showed me a merc in Matt black again a good finish , but not my preference , as for the stone chips he said the car gets rubbed down and filled so it dosent show through he didn't give me a price but said it would e cheaper than a respray but needs to see the car first

Normal cars are in the region of £1500-£2000. Unfortunately the Tuscan is not an ordinary car, there are no flat panels on the car and as such requires many more hands to apply. Here's the link to my thread on the wrap
If you're worried about chips and scratches why not get the areas where these will happen wrapped in car protect film. It's a clear film that will protect the paintwork for years and years. CarPro is one I've used from Hexis. I think plenty of wrapping firms will be familiar with the stuff and I think 3M also do a similar material.
