Anyone had a go at mounting speakers in the doors?
Discussion
Oh I see,
I think generally the speakers are mounted to the panel and not the door its self.
When mine where done Dave used fibreglass and filler to mould a pattern I'm sure you could remove the covering from your panel fix an MDF ring and then blend it in with filler and then recover.
Without removing my door panel I'm not sure what depth you have and at what point there would be a sufficient void to mount them directly to your panel.
Hope this makes sense?
When does your car come back? If you need a photo of the door I could remove my panel and take a couple tomorrow?
My window rattles when I close the drivers door so I'll be killing 2 birds with one stone!
Don't suppose you have any tips on window adjustment

I think a window rattle can also happen if the felt needs replacing but I could be mistaken.
I was expecting the car back by now but it seems to have had a lot of delays - I guess with TVR's maybe sourcing parts is a much slower process than with other cars?! (the accident was the 4th of January!) - The now have the parts but I'm not sure if they've tried painting the front panels yet - it's up with Surface and Design at the moment - then will go back to Str8 6 to fix the radiator.
I never thought an accident where a couple of panels and a radiator were damaged would take so long to fix!
I was hoping I'd have it back from the meet on the 12th but now that looks like a pipe dream.
I'll be going either way though - have booked a B&B with the wife so I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible then - my first TVR event! =)

Fingers crossed you'll get it back in time.
I think S&D have a back log at the moment, possibly the time of year, everyone keen to get the paint work sorted for summer!
Claire & I will be staying on the Saturday night so hopefully we'll get to socialise with like minded TVR nuts.
Hope it works out that your car is done in time. I saw it in it's damaged state and although sad it's a stunning car in a stunning colour and would be a good attraction at the show.

Just back from the trimmers, full carpet, door cards and roof lining in Alcantara. The speakers were already in the door when I purchased the car, a £4k system when new apparently.
My trimmer, Trim Deluxe who's done a great job, says the aluminium mounts are purpose made.
It all sounds pretty good, with a new Alpine175 head unit, 433 amplifier and Rainbow Intelli 8 sub.
