Speed 6 problem sorted
Discussion
If I were a rich Russian kid and daddy just bought me a TVR for xmas (the factory) I am sure I could make this Speed 6 problem go away very easily.
Ship a few engines to someone like Cosworth to test and find out 100% what is wrong. Pay them to design a fix that is 100% effective (not a bodge).
Offer every single Speed 6 engine owner the option to join a waiting list for a £1000 head swop at Blackpool regardless of whether they need it this week or not.
The mod would involve swopping the complete head so they could be prepared ready for fitting (less down time for car owner) and it could be made visibly different so everybody knows it has been done.
The increased reliability would decrease the appalling depreciation, TVR name gets better, everyone wins.
You then get on with running the company and move forward knowing the company actually has a future. Having paid millions for a company which is essentially in trouble whether they have noticed it or not (why did PW really sell up now?) this would be a small price to pay and a smart investment.
Nothing short of this would convince me to buy new one, anyone got any better ideas?

The dealer I was talking to totally talked over my request for a V8 TVR I wanted him to pass on to Blackpool.
Hopefully the forthcoming news release might have some information of their intent...

Whether the problem has been sorted or not is almost academic now because nobody believes it is and that is what matters to people thinking of buying one. Obviously if you already own one and you face being stuck with this problem it might be better than nothing.
If they now have no engine problems then they would have no problem with giving a 3 year/60,000 mile warranty would they?
I won't hold my breath.
What V8 model did you ask for? Why not just deal with the factory?

Everyone who still mentions 'speed six problems' without personally having any, are really f g sad and f
g boring and probably f
g jealous.
I don't have one, I have a TVR and would like to carry on owning one. I have a 4 year old car with no engine problems and cannot see a reason to trade up to one that costs twice as much which will not last a year.
Jealous? Maybe you should rethink your argument if you have one?
