Hi, with the top down, how do you lock the doors with the key fob without setting the alarm / motion sensor ?

Thanks

I don't think you can.... I'll check there was something about holding it for a long time , but I was never convinced...
My Chim is great .. I can alarm and stop the windows from coming up...I asked Smithy to do a mod for me once... but nothing came of it .

You can press the button in the middle of the door knob if you can reach in from outside but likewise if someone can reach in they can unlock in the same way but to the uninitiated it will be locked and not alarmed.
I might be imagining this but I think if you hold the locking button on the keyfob longer it may do something different with the locking/alarming procedure. Will need to check and report back.

That's a good idea. I'll try that. Many thanks :-)

If you close the windows and hold the fob button it appears to disable the movement sensors but if you hold it too long it unlocks again. Still trying to work out the sequence but it's definitely possible to disable.

I'm sure I read in the owners manual that there is a way of doing this from the fob along with associated chirps and flashes.
As I struggle with working out what on earth is going on with simple locking and unlocking the car I have not gone onto the advanced stuff !

Assuming you have the original fit alarm, when locking, hold down the the button down on the fob for four seconds. If you do this straight after shutting the door/window raising automatically it will beep four times (as it usually does if the windows are still shutting) and then beep faster (less time between the beeps) to state that the roof off setting is set. If not straight after shutting the door then the indicators will just flash faster.

Problem is, I can't remember what difference it makes in terms of alarm settings frown

Edited for spelling and to point out that the button on the unlocking knob is Chimaera.......
