Early Mk1 heater ECU
Discussion
So winter is on it's way and no heater. Have sent the ECU to Paul Smith and told it's beyond repair,
part no MEL 427, and they're like hens teeth! Am told it's a breakers job to get hold of one.
Has anyone else had to replace theirs? Surely it comes off another car and can't be specific to the Tuscan? Any suggestions other than thicker socks and long johns greatly appreciated.
Cheers.

I'd say to 'phone Racing Green parts, then Racetech direct. If they are both nil stock, then search on here for "Cath Mason", she was the ecu guru in the factory up until its demise. Failing that, I've found Douglas Valley breakers efficient and helpful
I've seen a contact phone number for Cath, so might be worth a call to see what she can do?

Cheers Nic,
Have just spoken to Paul Smith direct and now know all about being TVR specific!
However, he does say I could use the later ECU (MEL 489) with a later version 2 control panel, albeit with some minor wiring mods. This would certainly make any future repairs easier.
Have also spoken to Douglas Valley as suggested, very helpful, and TVR Dean who have one at £150.00
Hopefully we are getting there.
Thanks again,
Roger

Roger,
Just be aware that TVRDean does not get rave reviews on here.
I got a drivers side window regulator from Douglas Valley earlier this year and was exactly what I wanted/as described.
Edited to add: link to PH post regarding Cathy Mason - contact details, recommendations etc.

Good luck.
