Refurbishing my Tuscan......more
Discussion
Hi Guys,
I need some help re-acquainting my Tuscan with its speed six engine after an illicit affair with a Ford 302 engine as mentioned in this post:
http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
The problem I've got is that the garage who started the conversion lost(or used on other cars)the spare parts and I can't remember how it all goes back together!
Can someone show me a picture of how the Alternator, PS, Air con are mounted and which tensioner brackets go where?
Which sensor is mounted just above the coil pack? I presume the water temp is just above the alternator? What about the feed just above the engine mounting bracket- oil pressure?
Thanks

Thanks that's a great start. Maybe I should post a picture of the bare block and see if everyone can fill in the blanks....

1-> Water Temp Sensor
2-> Thermistor
3-> ??
4-> Bolt for what?
5-> Oil Pressure sender?
6-> Oil hose to ?
7-> Oil hose to ?
Does anyone know what size bolts hold the flywheel on to the engine?

I've got hundreds of pics of my engine bay as I took it all apart. Happy to send you through photos if you can PM me your email address.
Cheers,
Martin
P.s. wouldn't it be cool if someone could build a website with a home page with a plan, side and end views of a Tuscan and then people could pin onto it pics that they have taken. Something similar to the way google maps works when people upload pics they have taken of a location. Anyone know how to do this?

Thanks guys, that's helped a lot.
I've realised I'm missing the large A/C front pulley and the A/C mounting bracket that would be fitted to no.3. Managed to locate a Pulley but it's a lot of money and I may have to fabricate something to replace the mounting bracket.
Tried a few different bolts to fit the flywheel to the engine and it seems to be either M10 fine thread or 3/8 UNF. Definitely, not standard M10 or 3/8 UNC.

Would need to be correct tensile strength toI've realised I'm missing the large A/C front pulley and the A/C mounting bracket that would be fitted to no.3. Managed to locate a Pulley but it's a lot of money and I may have to fabricate something to replace the mounting bracket.

,
I've managed to get the A/C pulley and bracket for about £50.
It pays to phone around!
Does anyone know if anything is attached to the threaded hole just below no.4(earth wires) and just above the engine bracket?
Got a quote to have the flywheel lightened and balanced for £132, seems quite a lot. It needs re-facing anyway so I might get it done....
Also, received the Bellhousing today....didn't realise how tiny it was compared to the Mustang one I was using. It has two fittings for the slave cylinder- I presume one goes to bulkhead and the other is a bleed nipple?
Wishing I had a copy of the Orange bible......

blead is allway at the top (12 oclock) has to be to get the air outBugger....realised that the Slave cylinder is a Raceproved unit which is missing the release bearing.
I'd thought it was a standard unit and could get a new bearing fitted. Have had to send it back to Raceproved to see if they can refurbish it.
Got the A/C pulley and bracket now. And the Clutch bleed pipe.
The Flywheel to Crank bolts are M10 fine thread.
