Hi all,

I'm looking at a Tuscan and I think there is a chance it could be a red rose. How would you know, would it say in the log book or is there another way of identifying them?

I ask because it was previously sold as a "390bhp" model and it isn't an S, so if that is right it should be a rose non?

many thanks as always
James

I'm on my second Red Rose now.

It may say so in the owners manual, written in biro on the vehicle details page.

It should have a Hydratrak LSD, but you'll have to know your oily bits to spot one of those... I wouldnt know how to tell.

My sure fire test.. take the bonnet off, at the front of the fuel rail it should have Red Rose written in marker pen.

Other differences... erm.. front brakes should be larger calipers and rotor/disk I think (322mm off the top of my head), slightly different set up with separate bell/disk arrangement too.

ETA what age is the car? Red Rose was pretty short lived IIRC, 2000-2001, then the S took over I think.

Thanks very much,

I will look and see if I get the car, it is a W reg (2000)

Another clue I thought was it has the s spoiler on it

No probs.

That'll probably be aftermarket, the redrose didnt have a spoiler.

My current one doesn't and the spoiler on my previous RR was fitted by the chap I bought it from.

Good luck, hope it's a good'un.

Hi

My Tuscan is a Red rose, it has a s badge with the spoilers and bigger 322mm Brakes up front. It was upgraded by TVR power to red rose spec and has various Rolling road print outs with 380-400bhp. The TVR power invoice proves it is a real red rose engine.

I might have to sell it very soon unfortunately for a new business venture frown

Mine had the bigger brakes, different ecu but nothing else. I doubted it until I had the car re trimmed and found scrawled in marker pen 'red rose' on the panel between the boot and rear shelf area smile

TVR's budget for graphics and decals clearly knew no bounds...

£68,600 odd quid adjusted for inflation in today's money.

Gets you a fair bit of new car even today.

Not if the car has a roof/ doors /windows!
Would get a very faster caterham, Maybe and exige?

All the other would be a "bit" slower.. By varying margins.

Mine wasnt a Red Rose but it had

Big brakes with separate rotors
Aircon
Hydratrack

All of which you see on a Red Rose, I thing you can only be sure if you have paperwork and writing on the fuel rail. Sometimes its written on the ecu in marker pen too.

Red Roses changes that were most visible to me were different shock absorbers (yellow Bilsteins originally IIRC), and the main beams are HIDs.

A RR doesn't have any spoilers, they were introduced on the S.
