Easy job, linkage has to be re-set before the clutch is depressed, or you will open it to wide and the new clutch is fooked

With the stopper under the clutch pedal, think you can also adjust the length of the master cylinder rod.

You only want the pedal to have the minimum amount of travel to fully enage the clutch. Beyond that and there will be excessive strain on the fingers.

Interesting M4tti,
I had mine done July 2012, 10,000 miles later and its gone already, but the clutch travel has always been quite far since it was done, could this have led to its early demise or just me driving it like a tit?

You can just replace the pressure plate £250 from AP or dealers if the friction plates are ok.

Make sure the adjustment is good though, Walford gave me a tip that it should just be able to push the car at the smallest movement of the clutch.

Like Neil mentioned, you want the minimum travel with the clutch pack tvr used. Too much pedal travel is converted to force on the diaphram sping. Did your clutch fail at the diaphragm spring, spring washers, butterfly springs or friction plates. That's really what you need to understand.

I guess it depends who did it, and what feedback they gave you.

Will be interesting as ive heard a number of people now mention that the friction material isnt the issue, its a secondary part such as the diaphram spring fingers or star washers that have gone. Which frankly is rubbish design an build.
