Door has a mind of it's own.

Hi all, in this nice weather I have had the roof off and windows down but the drivers door keeps opening on its own, sometimes when driving and sometimes when its parked and unlocked. Any easy fix??

Does it open fully or just indicate being open? My passenger door did it, ended up being the sensor under the silver plate where the door pin slots in bedding adjusted. Took 5 mins to fix.

It fully opens, had to grab it when it opened going around a round about.

Three possibilities here. Window encoder under the door card, micro switch in the door lock mechanism or the door ECU under the centre console. If you don't have any problems with the window opening and closing it is most likely the micro switch.

...If it's the micro-switch on the door lock, then interior light will come on/flicker.

I'd also get some oil on the lock mechanism. Mate came round other day and his pass. side door lock release was really lazy..a bit of oil rectified.

No I hadn't just washed it. Yes the interior light comes on but it should if the door opens. It seems ok again now, I think it was just that the windows had been done for a couple weeks and it was confused. Put the windows up and down a few times and it seems to have reset everything. Well I hope so as I don't like the door flying open when going round corners. I will use a little DW40 on the mech as well. Thanks for your help guys.
