Orginal Goodyear F1 Eagles
225/40s front 24 PSI (Chinesse)
255/35s rear 28 PSI (German)

If you've got F1 Asymetrics the sidewalls are quite weak and you may want to go to 30 PSI.

But you don't want 225s on the rear !!!

I have Goody F1s alround. If I put anything more than 24psi in it jumps around like a pogo stick!
Keep it usually at 22 front and up to 24 with a load on but I don't take the missus out that often !!

Am I missing something here ???

Everyone on here goes on about getting stiffer springs and turning up the resistance of dampers and then run with very soft rear tyres. Surely the physics of it say soft tyres defeat having a stiffer suspension confused . After all tyres are dampers effectively.

I am no expert but seems a contradiction to me.... Some knowledgeable person will hopefully come along and explain it to me smile .

Interesting the car was delivered with 225x35 all round, and the car felt fine. Thanks for the information.

Sometime I would check your wheels are on the right axles ... Fronts and Rear wheels are different offsets .

Thanks str8six sorted the tyres and trust they would have picked up on it, if it had been a problem plus I had a full geo at the last service. Just in case are the wheel marked so that the fronts can be identified?

Str8Six are great, my car has been serviced by them for several years now. The only thing I don't like is that they like to put 26PSI in the tyres. The car feels too darty to me like this so I drop the pressures to 24 PSI when I get home. Mind you, I'm a wuss and have my Nitrons set to 8 front 6 rear from soft :-)

Convertible "S"s like yours left the factory with 255/35s all round, with 225/35 all your overall tyre diameters are 3.3% smaller, as you say STR8SIX know what they are doing.
