Brake pad thickness/replacement?
Discussion
Just checked my pads post track day. I've got 10mm left on the front, not concerned with them, and 4-5mm left on the rear. Anyone know the recommended minimum thickness or should I just replace anyway? If so what are the pads to go for? I guess they're 'standard' fit rear, as they were on there when I got her, note I had DS2500 road compound fitted on the front last time round if it makes any difference.
Thanks in advance

Andy,
Your local motor factor can supply rear pads quite easily. IIRC you need to ask for Granada Cosworth pads for vented discs (Check parts WIKI). I had a minor panic attack just before Spa due to a casual glance through the wheels. When Nigel turned up at my house, he quite rightly said 'drop a wheel off and eyeball them properly'. Turns out there was plenty of friction material left. Doh!
I believe the standard warning at service - "Only 3000 mls left on pads" is put on when pads have got 3mm or less on them.
