I know I need to buy a tvr very soon - the childhood itch is getting too strong... But can't decide if I even like this one... http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/t...

Anyone seen it?

You might wanna give your thread a title smile

I think the main thing which would detract me from this car is the wheels. That said, wheels are easily changed and I'm sure someone will pay money for these bling-tastic mothers.

yes it was for sale about 9/10 months ago or maybe more. and i think it was at the same price then as it is now. it did not sell maybe because, it is too colourfull inside and out.
thier is a post about it on here some time ago.
if you are seriouse about buying it, then ask, has it been in a involved in a accident of a cat D or C. and also ask for all the reciept that he has done on it, like he says.
are thinking of takeing it your homeland?

The colour is very marmite. I suspect thats why it hasn't sold. If you buy it you'd have to accept that come sale time you too might be sitting on it for a while.

Thanks guys ..... The colour sure is challenging... That said, if the work that's been done has been done properly.... But still, that colour....

Unfortunately I wouldn't be able to export it to Qatar - left hand drive only, so would keep it in the UK to give me more incentive to visit home more often - my house currently has an empty garage begging to be filled! At least working here means I can afford the petrol on visits home!

I have However reached the conclusion that if I am ever going to own a TVR (and I must), then it should be soon.

Currently torn between a Tuscan and a 5.0 chim.

For what it is worth, I looked up the company of the man who is selling the car and it looks like they will have been the ones who did the work.

A couple of negative reviews online, and some worrying information in the company's records.

I don't know the people at all, but a quick google would be wise for anyone looking to buy I think.

If it is as good as it looks I think it could be a bargain for the right person.

I got an email back from the chap, here are a couple of excerpts that will surely be of interest to anyone looking at buying the car

"2. What is the service history like. I own my own small garage so whenever the car needed servicing we did it and specialist TVR work including the engine rebuild was carried out by Dulfords. And I do have receipts for all the work they carried out I'm just waiting to get copies of the receipts from our accountants as the receipts all got put through the books for my company.

3. How many previous owners? The car has had 10 previous owners

4. Do you have a dyno printout to show the power? No I don't have a dyno print out for the power"

I too have been considering this one. The color is loud and proud but I could deal with it. Not a big fan of the wheels but they can be swapped easily enough. I think I saw it for like 20 or 22K about a year ago, so he hasn't been in a rush to sell.
Bang for buck its starting to look like a good buy as the price drops. Maybe a bit of a concern that power claims are made with no RR records.
Anyone going for it?

all the parts and upgrades he is claiming thats done on it, i bet he has not done all them him self. me thinks most of the previouse owners have done the work, and some him self. none the less, the car is growing on me. i'd be intrested in it, if it were about £13000. then it would be a good buy.

I think this car looks great (also the wheels). She seems to be in good condition and too cheap in my opinion. The engine seems to have been modified with a new ECU and a knock-sensor ?
