I've had my car up for sale for a week now from peer pressure from the mrs wanting a bigger family fun car than the selfish 2 seater Tuscan that she never gets to go in! But after having a couple of calls and no-one serious, then giving it a REALLY good polish making it look so damn good, I'm thinking sod it! I want to keep it! Took a guy out for a test drive about 15 miles through all types of road, through Wallingford town with the exhaust burbling off the townhouses in the street at low speed and I thought to myself....what am I doing!!!!! If its not gone by next weekend I think I'm pulling my add and enjoying another years use in it!!!

Love these cars!!!!!

Periodically wake up in the night screaming every day for a week, shouting no no, the wife asks why, just reply nothing, then a sob, just dreaming about selling the car. Its ok love, back to sleep...

If you can get a doctors note to say this will continue to happen and if you sell the car, it might mean you start wetting the bed, even better!

Suddenly, she will be begging you to keep it smile

That's what I'm thinking. We both have Focus' as our daily cars so need 'one' bigger one.

scratchchin I've looked at your car numerous times in the classifieds and wondered would I regret selling the Tam?

My kids have an XC90 2.9 T6 converted to LPG. Daughter (4 ft 11) adores it and drives it like she drove her first car, a Fiesta, as it has really light steering, but loads of power and space. They will be driving back from Merseyside tomorrow with their two kids and a friend and her two kids, ie 7 up. Even we the grandparents have travelled 100 miles in the rear two seats. Awesome car for families. And on LPG, not too expensive to run.

It is a difficult decision Toady... I have written a draft copy of an ad for mine with the intention of going back to a Cerb, but haven't had the heart to put it up yet. Don't sell unless the replacement is another Tiv, that is the only rule. smile

According to this that's a bad idea and valve recession won't be far away Oman xc90

Thanks Matti. I have given that list close inspection and it seems to refer to a 2.5 turbo, not our 2.9 turbo (which has done 160,000 km by the way), but I am not complacent and will have it compression tested. Our only issue with the car is the size of the LPG tank, which is a donut type and only holds 200 miles worth of fuel. If it's any comfort, we have a three year warranty on the car which still has two years left. Having said all that, the XC90 running on petrol/LPG drives far better than the somewhat sedate D5 diesel, and makes the car a nice drive for such a flexible and capable vehicle. It gives the kids a great view of what's going on during their journey and of course protects those things that are precious to you (as well as the wife and the kids).

Smart thinking. Lots of car for your money, drives well, takes all the junk you can throw at it.

My kids only went for the Volvo because of the 7 seats and the protection it offered for their two and five year old offspring.. Grandparents get tagged along quite frequently!

Don't know or mind, though the 150bhp vector sports seems good.
