My personal opinion is the ls3's are to tourquey, so I went with a smaller Ls engine a all alloy 5.3 with a cam kit and intake it will make around the same power but with less torque lower down which in theory should give less wheel spins from the lights

Plus save a couple of quid doing so

I'm on my phone at the moment so can't post pictures

It's same size as ls3 in fact mines running a ls3 water pump and pulley

Many Ls engines have interchangeable parts

I would strongly advise not doing it on a tight budget Dani, unless you are an experienced engineer. Spend the money you need to spend and you will not regret it.

PM me if you want to discuss.

Absolutely - the only concern is being ripped off so I am always vigilant on Cowboys.

Could you break down the costs entirely so I can see if the companies that gave me £15k - £18k + VAT are not ripping me off. I understand we all need to make a living but I can get a LS3 engine for approx £5k so the maths to me don't add up.

Considering the LS7 and LS9 are out now on the market, there should be cheaper in obtaining the LS3.

Thanks guys for all the posts by the way. It's great that this community forum is still strong.

In reality a lot of the cost will come from fabrication work. If you investigate fabrication of performance manifolds, that alone could set you back 1 to 2k.

OP why dont you try Dyno Torque, mine was born there as was Winstanleys Saggy, and countless other of brands of car, he can fabricate everything in house, they have probably done more LS conversions than anyone else in the UK? They also installed the engine/box/exhausts on the Vulcan. Ring Craig on 0121 753 0415.

My pal who did the LS (1 ?) conversion on his Cerbera bought his 2nd hand from a website in the States.

Cost him about £3300 all in including import, all taxes and a hire van to get up to Tilbury.
This was 3-5 years ago though. Dollar-Sterling exchange was probably better for UKP then.

are you talking about doing the engine/clutch/box/ecu/exhausts swap yourself
or getting someone to do it for you
