Milometer Resetting to Zero

Nice idea but does anyone know how to get my true mileage back again as every time I start the engine the milometer returns to zero?

If yours is a MK1 then I am led to believe that within the circuit boards is a battery, it could be that it is knackered. If not then please disregard my ramblings.

Yup, happened to mine as well as the display getting lighter and lighter till it was unreadable. Diagnosed as the battery in the display.

Cath was the only fix I found for it, her contact details are on the forum somewhere.
