Hi
Speedo stopped working and then all over the place followed by nothing again.
Manual said that the seed sensor share's the same fuse as mirrors, mirrors work fine.
Blow the muck of the transducer and decreased the gap a little still no joy.

Questions:

Shall I get a new transducer now?
If so do I go to a know TVR parts supplier or is there a after market unit?
If fitting a new unit is there any wiring to do as I see the normal suppliers units have bare wires and the existing unit has a yellow lead with a plug on the back?

Cheers
Any help appreciated

I still have the same issue but mine is still responding to a knock on the left side of the instrument cluster shroud. The wire from the transducer has to terminate somewhere and I guess that this is under the shroud. A bad connection there would also give erroneous readings. Anyone know whereabouts?

due to work I will not get to look at the problem until the weekend.

minkybob, I hunted round for another unit, I even found the original supplier - but they were more expensive than the normal TVR parts suppliers! I even considered another hall effect sensor from RS Components or Farnell but couldn't find anything similar. I simply spliced mine into the existing wiring so I'm not sure where it terminates.

Make sure the needle is meshing properly with the pot on the back of the speedo face. It's easy to get to with the cluster removed. They should "just" mesh. Too much and it jams up, too little and it slips.

My needle flew up when stationery, would this point to an incorrect signal?

Mine drops to about -20mph when ignition is turned on so doesn't read correct whilst driving. Sometimes it get
Near to the actual speed but never spot on with the digi gauge.

If your digital gauge is ok then it's not your speed sensor.

Just checked
No digital gauge either so things are point at transducer I think!

When you say all over the place, do you mean erratically?

Usually mine is fine, if a little, notchy/ticky within a +/- 2mph range, but above a certain speed it begins to swing like a metronme between 0 and 200...

Easy fit came with a new stainless steel bracket to bolt to diff.
You have to cut the existing plug off and connect new wires up.

Hi Mine has been doing the same, initially would drop to -20mph when turning the key with Diag Code A Error, turn of and on 3 times and the speedo needle went back to zero and off we go speedo matching digi readout. I had Heath and Paul (Xworks) look at it a couple of months back who sent it off to be looked at. This found nothing so they changed the micro switch and all looked good for 2 days then back to faulty. Its been back 2 more times and still not sorted and starting to just live with it until I can be bothered to go back to Paul and Heath. If anyone has a definitive fix can it be shared on a sticky as a few people are having the same frustrations it seems.
Cheers
