Tvr day insurance ???
Discussion
Hi I'm new to Tvr's , I am currently looking at getting a Tuscan and have found one I would like to buy , The trouble is I am having difficulty finding a way of getting it back as I don't want to insure it yet as I have 4 cars at the moment . I have tried the day insurance company's but they refuse because its a Tvr . Does anybody know of any places that will insure for a day or any other suggestions ? Thanks
Insure it, then cancel within the 7 day distance selling cooling off period. Once you have driven it home, you might find you want to cancel one of the others.....
You do realise how cheap the Tuscan will be to insure, don't you? Use a classic car insurer, like Classic Line, Mannings, Flux (there are others, look at the insurance wiki). They don't use your no claims, just look at what you already drive, your age (but not as much as you would expect) and your licence and accident history. You may well get it insured for 2000 miles a year for around £200-300. 5000 miles will be a little more, it only get more expensive if, like me, you can't stay out of it, and want track cover too. I presently pay just over £400 for unlimited mileage on a Chimaera 500, with track day cover.

Have you got an older friend with a 4x4? You need a licence that covers towing trailers, so someone who has had a licence for over 15 years, and the trailer and TVR must be within the towing weight of the tow vehicle. Saw VOSA pulling someone over last week for exactly that reason.
Trailer hire will cost you about £50.

Thanks for your advise I'm going to look into insuring the with intention of cancelling . I'm not 17 but wish I was I will be 25 soon . Thanks
Isn't the fact you've posted your intent on a public forum somewhat dangerous? Can't you get someone you trust to drive it third party on their insurance?Gassing Station | Tuscan | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
