Anyone help? I've just bought a tuscan red rose, beutiful black on an x plate. After only one day of ownership i started hearing a rattle coming from the engine bay. It has since got worse and can be heard at idle and when i hit a bump in the road. The engine was ticking over at just 500 rpm for a while and got caught in a massive traffic jam. Think this is what started it. The noise sounds like someone has put a box of saucepans on top of a washing machine on spin cycle!! Anyone had this before?????
Took it to fernies who said that they raised the engine mounts on one side and fixed it.. but got half way home and its back again and as bad as ever.

There is a 'sewing machine' noise that is audible particularly when the roof is off. If it's worse than that then I'm afraid that it sounds more worrying. Put as few miles on it as possible and get it looked at to your satisfaction immediately.

Thanks for response guys.... Just taken it in and it too be looked at and it turns out to be a body panel bolt that had come loose. Amazing such a loud noise could be generated by such a small problem...but pheww. No engine transplant just yet!! Thanks again.
