Hi Everyone, I am trying to track down a colour code for the cascade blue paint. From the plate in the boot, my Bodycode is D28067. I cannot find any reference to this number in the paint code forum. Any one any ideas. Thanks

I have the same body code, although my colour is not cascade blue - I guess it has been resprayed at some time. I PM'd Malcolm who said that code was not listed but he would look through the old paintshop paperwork when I send him the last 4 digits of my chassis no.

I'll do that today and let you know.

Bob

i couldnt find anything for mine in the paint section either. international colours do the paint but its called cascade violet, something to do with changing the name due to the being 2 cascade blues. anyway the colour match is spot on as i've just had an s spoiler done.

Thanks, I have just noticed on the original bill of sale the colour is listed as Candy Apple Blue. I just need to know where to go to get the exact match, but that code is a bit of a mystery, just seen your profile pic Stuart, and your colour looks just like mine. Thanks Bob, appreciate it

Not always the case, I have spent hours now looking at computer and paper records on this code and things to me do not make sense yet.
I have found 28 cars and the Show car 2 from 1998 with this code which turns out to be for the groundcoat formulation of cascade blue/purple
At TVR we only painted 3 or 4 cars in the RM cascade blue/purple multi colour which D28067 was the groundcoat.
All the other cascade colours were PPG and sprayed over black so I will carry on and try and find what the F**k is going on.
More hours I think.

I have no idea about paint and codes, what is the groundcoat, what is PPG, and to what does the code D28067 relate to. There was me thinking I could just walk in to a paint shop with code and walk out with a tin of the right paint, Doh!!confused

My advice would be to get it paint matched as there is no guarantee the paint is the right colour from the code anyway.

Hi. If your research reveals the chassis no. of the 3/4 cars on the non-PPG cascade colours sprayed over black I would be really grateful if I could find out whether my Sagaris is one of them... it's bound to need some paintwork at some point

I took my Cebera to have the front end resprayed and they matched it and gave me the swatch with the code. also a friend of mine took 2 other TVR,s to have resprays with the same results, I would try that first and see how it goes,

Please tell me why TVR owners should just rely on a bodyshop to match the colour of there car when TVR colours and codes are often not what they seem and most bodyshops will not know what the code means.
A lot of colours used by TVR might have a cross reference to another manufacturer but are modified colours, is it not better to enquire which make of paint ICI SOLVENT,ICI WATERBASE, RM PPG, LECHLER, SHERWIN WILLIAMS, DUPONT, ETC all of which will be a different variation.
You do what you want but I will keep trying to give good advice to TVR owners and Bodyshops as to the make and formulation of the paint.

Resurrecting an old thread here as I am going to need to get some work done on my Tamora which is Cascade Blue.

My Body Code is also 028067.

According to the TVR Paint Colours spreadsheet there are 3 entries for Cascade Blue as follows:

Nexa 2K and Aquabase
TVR CODE: Color Description: Brand Color Code: Paint System:
P153 CASCADE BLUE 1427B 2K
P153 CASCADE BLUE 1427M 2K
P153 CASCADE BLUE 1427B AQUABASE

Not sure why there are three different codes.

I also found the following website listng the paint but is this genuine? http://tvrpaint.com/shop/tvr-cascade-violet/

Did anyone manage to find out any more info regarding this paint?

I bought the 14g Touch-up paint from them a couple of years back to sort a few nasty chips. Was a perfect colour match for me - worked a treat!
